What happens if there are utility lines where I want my deck or fence? No problem! We always contact Ontario One Call before starting any digging. They’ll mark the location of underground lines so we can plan the project accordingly. Sometimes, the design may need slight adjustments to avoid the utility lines, and in rare cases, the lines may need to be relocated by the utility company. We’ll work with you and the utility companies to find the best solution.
Several factors determine the cost-effectiveness of a fence or deck. For the most budget-conscious approach, pressure-treated is a good starting point. Composite and vinyl offer the lowest maintenance but are the most expensive upfront. We can discuss the pros and cons of each material to help you find the best balance of cost and value.
For fence installations, we typically need clear access along the entire fence line. A good rule of thumb is to ensure at least 40 inches of clear space along the path where our crews will be working. This allows for safe and efficient movement of materials and equipment. For decks, we’ll need access to the area where the deck will be attached to the house, as well as the surrounding yard area. Larger deck projects, or those requiring significant excavation or concrete work, might require wider access for equipment like excavators or concrete trucks.
